What it means
↑ Upright
Half the scroll in her lap is hidden under her mantle: some things are spoken and some only implied. What matters here is not yet in plain view, and pressing for an answer rarely draws it out. Say less, notice what you already sense, and let the matter show itself before you name it.
↓ Reversed
Here the quiet goes out of the card: strong feeling, or a little knowledge held with great confidence, crowds out the slower sense of what is true, and you may speak before you understand. Check whether you are reacting or listening, and give a hunch time to settle before trusting it.
She sits between the two pillars of Solomon's temple, commonly read as the pairs of opposites, before a veil hung with pomegranates: what lies behind it is not shown. Her crown is a full moon held between two horns, a crescent lies at her feet and a cross is on her breast. The scroll in her lap is the Torah, the law, and the moons throughout mark her as keeper of intuition, of what is known without being said.
Upright
Secrets, mystery, the future as yet unrevealed; the woman who interests the Querent, if male; the Querent herself, if female; silence, tenacity; mystery, wisdom, science.
Reversed
Passion, moral or physical ardor, conceit, surface knowledge.
